TUGAS III- TEFL-1
Answer all the questions below properly.

1.      Write down the materials which are appropriate for Total Physical Response(TPR)
The material which is suited to the TPR is introducing new vocabularies.
For example     : the vocabulary about colors.
Preparation      : teacher prepares a set of papers which has different color (red, blue, black, white, purple, yellow, brown, grey, green)
a)      The teacher introduces the kinds of color to the students.
b)      After explaining, the teacher commands the student to pick up the certain color.
Teacher : pick up the blue card!
Students : pick the blue card
Teacher : pick up the red card!
Students : pick the red card.
And so on.
c)      The teacher tests the students one by one
Teacher : Devi, show to your friends the brown card!
Devi     : pick the brown card
When the student picks the wrong card, the teacher repeats the command and directly corrects the error.

2.      Write down the materials which are appropriate for Grammar Translation?
The material which is appropriate to GTM is teaching about the material of grammar.
For example     : singular and plural noun
a)      The teacher explains the definition of noun and the kinds of noun
b)      The teacher explains about countable noun and uncountable noun and gives the example of each of them.
Uncountable noun : noun atau kata benda yang tidakdapatdihitung.biasanyaberteksturhalus CONTOH : sugar, sand, flour, powder. Liquid/cairan : water, gasoline, oil. Seed/biji: rice, soy, nut. Gass : oxygen etc.
Countable noun           : noun atau kata benda yang bisadihitung. CONTOH : table, book, pen, bag, chair, child, man, woman, mouse, fish, dan lain lain
c)      The teacher explains about the kinds of countable noun.
Regular noun : kata benda yang dalamperubahanbentukdaritunggal (singular) kejamak (plural) ditambahkan -s atau –es CONTOH: tables, books, pens, bags, chairs.
Irregular noun :kata benda yang dalamperubahanbentukdaritunggal (singular) kejamak (plural)perubahannyatidakberaturan (tidakditambahkan –s atau –es) CONTOH: children, men, women, mice, fish, dan lain-lain
d)      Guru memberikan test sebagaiberikut
1)      Two (cat/cats) caught many (mouse/mice)
2)      Several (child/children) brought many (fish/fishes)

3.      Write down the materials you will give to your students in interview activities?
The material for interview activities is “tips for job interview”
a)      the teacher explains the preparation needed for job interview
example :
personal : know your own qualifications and how they relate to the position.
Industry : know everything about the industry. Find out as much as you can about the position, the company and its needs
Visual image: dress appropriate.
Be prompt: be on time! Allow extra time for traffic, parking and slow elevators. Do whatever to arrive a few minutes early.
b)      Giving the sample of questions of job interview which commonly appear on job interview
c)      The teacher provides the answer of questions
Example:
"Tell me about yourself."
"I'm an experienced communications specialist with extensive knowledge of public information tools and techniques. I've developed comprehensive communication plans for major public events, written dozens of articles accepted by worldwide publications, and created specialized educational programs for adults and students. I like working with people and enjoy group projects, but I am also a self-starter who doesn't mind working on my own. I'm a volunteer with the local chapter of Special Olympics and enjoy participating in community events."
"What is your greatest strength?"
"I'm good at organizational skills, prioritization and time management. But my greatest strength is my ability to effectively handle multiple projects and deadlines."
"What is your greatest weakness?"
"I've had trouble delegating duties to others because I felt I could do things better myself. This has sometimes backfired because I'd end up with more than I could handle and the quality of my work would suffer. But I've taken courses in time management and learned effective delegation techniques, and I feel I've overcome this weakness." 

4.      What material will you give to your students in role play activities?
The material for role play activity is ‘introduction’
a)      The teacher explains about introduction, the kinds of introduction (formal and informal)
b)      The teacher gives the example of introduction in dialogue.
Formal introduction:
Oliv     : good morning.
Sam     : good morning
Oliv     : may I know your name, please!
Sam     : sure, my name is Sam Smith , please call me Sam. And what’s your name please?
Oliv     : my name is Oliver Queen, you can call me Oliv. Nice to meet you Sam
Sam     : nice to meet you too

Informal introduction:
Oliv     : hi…
Sam     : hi, what’s your name?
Oliv     : I am Oliv, what’s yours?
Sam     : I am Sam. Please to meet you.
Oliv     : please to meet you too.

c)      The teacher reads the dialogue and the students follow the teacher
d)      The teacher gives the example of formal and informal introduction expressions
Formal introduction expressions:
May I know your name please?
I would like to introduce myself, my name is….

Informal introduction expressions:
What’s your name?
Hi, I am Oliv, what’s yours?
e)      In role play activity teacher asks the student to make conversation with their friend about informal introduction in English.
f)       the students practice in pair about formal and informal introduction in front of class.

5.      What are the principles of teaching children?
a)      Learning is fun
b)      The language is first presented through sounds, not written symbol.
c)      Language is taught by having the students use their senses: touch, see, listen, smell and taste.
d)      Meaning must be made perceptible through concrete objects or by the presentation of experience.
e)      Teaching starts from what the students already know in order to encourage association process.
