Expressing Happiness




1.      The Definition Expression of Happiness:
Expression of happiness is an expression that is used to show that someone or people are glad.
2.      When do you feel happy?
We are successful to do something.
We are feeling excited of something.
We hear good news.
We get something from someone.
Etc.
3.      Expressing Happiness
Here are some expressions to show happiness:

·         I’m happy to hear that
·         I’m glad you think so
·         That would be great
·         That sounds nice
·         That sounds fine
·         That sounds wonderful
·         Fantastic!
·         I enjoy …
·         That’s wonderful!
·         That’s fantastic!
·         That’s good!
·         I find it very exciting.
·         Good job!
·         Great!
·         Fantastic!
·         Terrific!
·         Hooray!
·         Yippee!
·         What a great idea!
·         It sounds like fun.
·         It is good news.
·         I’m pleased / delighted about it.
·         It’s the best thing I’ve heard …. (Examples: ever, for a long time)
·         I’m satisfied with ….
·         Congratulations!
·         I’m very happy because/on …. (Examples: you success, your graduate)
·         Well done.
·         You really make me happy.
·         I like …. (Example: to know that)
·         I love …. (Example: to hear that)
·         It was great.

4.      Example of showing happiness in dialogue
Dialogue1.
Zafran : have you seen an announcement today?
Fara     : no, I haven’t. What’s up?
Zafran : the result of our English test is coming up.
Fara     : so, how’s the result of our tests?
Zafran : not bad. We are past.
Fara     : you really make me happy.
Zafran : me too. I am so satisfied with the score.
Dialogue2.
Justin   : I have just got my bachelor degree and tomorrow there will be a graduation ceremony.
Selena  : great Justin, I am so happy to hear that.
Justin   : thank you Selena. I am so glad now.
Dialogue3.
Sam     : I got two movie tickets for free.
Smith   : that is good news. How did you get that??
Sam     : that’s not important. Let’s go for a movie now.
Smith   : it sounds wonderful. Come on, I can’t wait to see my favorite move.
Sam     : fantastic.
Dialogue4
Mrs. Hans        : How was your school today, dear?
Tasya
               : It was great, Mom.
Mrs. Hans
        : That’s good. By the way, Annie, your niece, is in Bandung now.
Tasya
               : Annie? When did she come? How was her study in Singapore?
Mrs. Hans
        : She arrived here yesterday, and about her study, she did it well.Now, she is having a semester holiday in Indonesia.You know what, she has brought some books.
Tasya
               : What books, Mom?
Mrs. Hans
        : Well, just have a look yourself. They are on the table in the reading room.
Tasya
               : Yippee!
Mrs. Hans
        : Well, don’t forget to find her to say thank you.
Tasya 
              : I will.
